Once again, this will be one of the launch events for the wider Adur Festival. We are planning a number of events and attractions as part of this. There will be a fairground, a marquee that will hold workshops and performances, an arena area for competitions and performances, a beer tent, and carefully selected other attractions compatible with a village fair on the recreation ground. This year, the main focus will be "Circus", with our own Big Top holding performances and workshops. As last year, there will be something for all the family. There will be the village fair, with all kinds of stalls, children's rides (including a miniature Steam Train), fairground, workshops, performances, demonstrations, beer tent and other food and refreshments, music, exhibitions, etc. Please see the daily timetables above for all the latest information. We are still taking bookings, so please come back and keep up to date with what's going on! The event will open on Friday evening with a cabaret concert in the marquee. This will feature "The Band 7", who have grown from "Duo Delta" who performed last year. The fair itself is on the Saturday and Sunday, again with a cabaret concert in the marquee on the Saturday evening, headlined by "The Southdown Ramblers" - back from last year by popular request. We hope once again to be able to provide transport to and from the event within Sompting. Please watch this space for further details. A major aim of the fair is to showcase local community clubs, activities and organisations. Pitches are available on a "shared success" basis, so that you can show the local community what you offer, and promote your organisation. If you are able to offer a workshop, demonstration and/or performance, we would be very keen to include this in the program if possible. For full details please see the Events 2007 page. |
